It looks like one or two companies will be releasing markers at world cup that include *some* of our technology. Maybe we'll get a "thank you" from them for our work? Naa we're not holding our breath either.
sie selbst kommen leider nicht so in die Gänge.

Aber der Worldcup kann dieses Jahr interessant werden

Der Bolt

Bild
Hey guys! Andy/Ydna here - I'm uploading a quick pic to unveil the new Zealot firing assembly. Internal LPR, push-button ball bearing quick strip, anti-rollback flow distributor cone, a secondary dump valve shutoff??!! The main portion of the bolt is also in the picture for reference. Hey there's more to come!

TAS hat es leider nicht auf die Extravaganza geschafft, dennoch präsentieren sie die vollen Specs der Zealot

We've been hesitant on posting details since there are still items that may change. I wouldn't want people to get confused when the final markers are available. But here's a brief rundown for features you can come to expect:

- Tool-free bolt removal and cleaning; only one component requires regular maintenance
- Single bore, balanced spool valve bolt
- 100% user-serviceable internal o-rings and seals; no custom seals are used throughout the marker
- Volumizing foregrip with replaceable outer covers (stubby, elongated, fat grip, angled, etc)
- Adjustable bolt speed control (dampening)
- Internally-routed air supply with self-aligning pressure couplings
- Pressure-balanced pneumatics LPR
- Dual temperature-compensated pressure transducers for both the LPR and dump valve
- 96x64 pixel OLED display screen, board speaker, and multicolor LED for quick marker status
- Micro-USB computer interface for settings adjustment, custom features, and at-home board updates
- Backwards-compatible with traditional foregrip regulators
- Auto-bleed tank pin on/off lever
- Hourglass frame ergonomics
- Spring-loaded, angled detents
- Trigger features externally-adjustable pre-travel, post-travel, firing point, and pull tension
- Concealed double roller bearing trigger pivot
- Boss-latch style lowrise feedneck (feednecks compatible with Empire, J4, Nummech)
- Serviceable without removing any wire harness or connector
- Game Timer

Some of those features are found on other markers, though not all at once.
However, Zealots have a few additional tricks:

- Multi-sensor bolt tracking system
- Autonomous firing adjustment - dwell time has been eliminated. FSDO has been eliminated.
- Automatically compensating marker operation irrespective of weather conditions, overlubrication, underlubrication, bolt splatter slowdown, temporal distortions, etc.
- Multiple performance feedback modules - cleaning/maintenance monitoring, loader speed monitoring, bolt speed dampening setup, true regulator performance, others.
- [future planned] Bluetooth communication module
- [future planned] diagnostic mode with computer

Want to learn more? Pictures of the internals will soon be available!
MSRP hasn't been set yet. It'll will depend on our distributor. But we don't want it being a $1500+ or anything crazy like that.

Barrels in progress, in various lengths of course. Notice how both ends of the control bore are cocker threaded? It's a nice little touch we added to make your life a bit easier.
.695 is only the bore size for the front section. The back control bore sizes we did in our past kits were 680-685-690; I'm not sure what we'll end up using with these (if there will be a kit or not) but it'll probably be around 685. the bores are meant to underbore with paint, but you have to use good paint in order to take advantage of it...

Die Zealot :gun:
The Thin Air Sports Zealot (photos by TAS)

Thin Air Sports (TAS) was born from the ashes of First Endeavor Paintball (FEP) back in 2007. Erik Ginorio and Andy “Ydna” DuBuc, the co-founders of TAS, had designed the K1 marker for FEP that was planned to be their new flagship model. Unfortunately FEP shuttered its doors in 2008 and the gun never saw a single paintball.

The guys decided to take their work and to keep going with it, and in 2009 Thin Air Sports was launched. It took 4 years of R&D to reach the point where their marker would finally do what they wanted, which brings us to today.

A Smarter Gun

The Zealot is a member of a new breed of “smart guns” that will soon hit the market. Gone are the days where players demanded 100,000 modes on their guns, today they simply want to turn on their gun, have it work, and go play.

So what makes a smart gun so smart? Simply put, the computer monitors how the gun is shooting and makes adjustments to the settings on the fly; this ensures the gun is shooting the best it can at every shot. The Zealots multi-sensing system and computer calculate the bolts speed and cycle times, and dual transducers monitor the pressures within the gun, watching the low pressure that moves the bolt and the firing pressure that shoots the ball. The computer uses this data to adjust the settings in real time, shot to shot, to keep the gun shooting optimally regardless how fast you’re shooting. It can also make use of this data to alert the user to possible issues affecting the performance of the gun, and in some cases the software will even attempt to compensate for it.

All this is done without the person shooting the gun ever needing to do anything, as a player you don’t even have to know that the gun is doing all this.

We’ll make it shoot, you make it yours

Another important area TAS is embracing is open source. We will be releasing the CAD models for various parts of the Zealot so people can modify these parts to their liking, then either have the part 3D printed or machined. It lets the owner have endless customization options and opens the doors for other innovative aftermarket parts. And keeping with that same line of thinking, the Zealot doesn’t contain any custom O-rings or seals, and the regulators use off-the-shelf springs, bearings and O-rings as well. TAS puts a focus into future-proofing the gun, helping protect its value and a player’s investment.

While this isn’t the complete feature set of the Zealot, it should give you a good idea on what this marker will be able to do and the direction TAS sees the rest of the sport is going.

Specs:
- Tool-free bolt removal and cleaning; only one component requires regular maintenance
- single bore, balanced spool valve bolt
- 100% user-serviceable internal O-rings and seals; no custom seals are used throughout the marker

- Most powerful electronics ever used in paintball

The Zealots is planned to launch in 2014. For more information on Thin Air Sports, check their web site or Facebook page.

Blöderweise gibts dafür was von Ratiopharm ääähhh Virtue

Those guns are the pre-production prototypes :)

The ASA/HPR is so big because we designed the prototype versions so we could remove the screw in the bottom and have the reg come out. It makes it much easier to tweak when we're testing. Same with some of the other smaller parts. The grips we actually made ourselves, so those aren't the final ones either.

How the electronics work we'll be revealing later on. We're still working on debugging the system and the code. This weekend was the first time they actually shot paintballs.

We hope to have ready to go into production in about 2 months once we finalized all our testings.
