Normally the guns max out at about 205 psi on the regulator, and some people have had an issue with getting the velocity up. Embarrassingly, some haven't gotten over 250fps. With no good determinable reason at first. Then, lots of testing and checking. Profanity to match. Parts made with weird and varying degrees of result. Nothing has seemed to work, and this problem has been overwhelmingly counterproductive.
With the bolt adjustments, adding o-rings and adjusting the front tip fit, we have the results we want.
On one gun in here, running the guts I have from a 250fps customer gun, at 170psi I ran 288fps average. Without the volumizer. Over 310 fps was easy to dial in. With the volumizer we can run under 160psi.
We will do more testing over the week, but as of this moment the most frustrating, confusing, inefficient and pain in the *)&^$%, annoying problem has been found and is able to be fixed relatively easy. We are not sure on the total course forward, but finally we have THE fix.
This gun will now run very close to the prototype. We will play with a few variables but now that the major problem has been solved we can fine tune the rest with acceptable parameters.
TIme to move forward.

Grosse Rückruf Aktion für alle J4 Guns

Krasse Aktion
J4 Paintball is doing a “Reboot” of their product line. In the process of that we will be updating all existing guns on the market to the updated status. That means ALL exisiting out in the market guns will be rebuilt to v1.1 specs. This includes any markers in our shop, Team or Tech guns.
Parts that needed to be remade have ordered and get into the shop in 3-4 weeks. The boards get in in about 8 weeks. Milling the Eye Mod takes about 2.5 weeks with shipping and turn around.
Since we have decided that we will rebuild ALL of the existing guns on the market as part of the reboot, that means in 3-4 weeks we need you to send in the guns. You can send now if you are interested.
If YOU have a Torque, no matter which number order you have owned it, they will all get a once over. Every single gun, no charge, full rebuild and tune plus the updates.
We will make sure they all get the ASA part upgrade, they will get the bolts, and we will fit test every one. We also will get the Eye board and in the end everything setup at that time.
If you have a gun send it into David at:
J4 Paintball, Tech Center West
Charlotte Paintball
6422 W. Wilkinson Blvd.*
Belmont, North Carolina 28012
Expect the first markers to take about 4 weeks (due to eye mod shipping).
If you have any questions please ask below.
Get them in for the Eye mod and the full update to v1.1:
UPDATES
ASA Pin
ASA Lever
Bolt
Eye Mod
Boards (if you need them)
This is Free! If you do need something else we will address it also.
If you didn't get the v1.1 upgrades, we will do it later, you do need to get the Eye Mod though, and they are done in batches.
Thank you very much,
J4

Japp.

Update:
Quelle: J4 FBState of the Gun update:
(Or maybe better labeled the State of David Update)
Hey guys, we need to be a bit forward here.
One: J4 is really small at the moment. David has a store and a field (Charlotte PB and Airsoft, and Behind Enemy Lines Paintball), and works 7 days a week at it. He has only taken 1 day off in months. He recently got a couple employees who can stay on task, not steal, and not take off for other work. He is also expanding the store, and expanded the days open at the field, so he is really busy.
I live 4 hours away. In addition to 5 kids and a wife I work 5-7 days a week, normally 70+ hours a week at a job with a 1 hour commute. This week I ended up out there all Saturday due to a problem, which canceled out going to BELPB as planned. Free time is fairly low on my side. Since I am not at the shop I can’t answer if your gun was shipped out or not.
2: We are doing J4 in between us at the moment as we train up some of the ChPB and BELPB guys. David works his backside off. I actually told him to not stay up to 5am prepping the floor at the new store because somebody else made a mistake working on it. Even then, he has been working on the floor of the store since Saturday and will be at it the rest for this week in addition to working on his store and field. This has kept him busy and kept him from being able to work on guns and work on email and such for all of you.
We have a shop at the field, where we have about 4000sft of space. It is about 45 minutes away from the store though, and while it has heat, it doesn’t have A/C. So when work permits, I drive 4 hours over for a day worth of work, David takes it off, and we get lil’ David and go to town on kit, then I drive 4 hours back. As David makes time during the rest of the week, he tears into it, or lil’ David will spend some time in between the store and his other stuff. There has been little time to work on this project ourselves, and right now it needs full time employees to take care of the current markers and start on the other. Even with David, due to the shop’s location, for an hours’ worth of work, which might be one gun, takes almost 3 hours. If he has to pick up a kid or runs for a tool or anything there is not much time left. It is best done on the weekends while running the field and while I am there. Right now the final guns are taking about an hour or more each, because we are dealing with problems that are not standard or apparent, and often need far more diagnosis or parts.
Until we sell some guns and can train up techs (Lil’ David being one) and pay them full time, this is NOT a full time business. It just can’t be. This is still out of pocket to some extent, and the work comes at the detriment to our other jobs and family.
Those are the problems. The solution is of course to open a larger store and find a local production shop and train up more employees.
So that is what we are doing right now.
Part of the reason David has less time now is the upgrade on the store. He is moving into a larger space just down from his current store, with double the square footage. Which seems like bad timing, but it has a purpose. We will have a dedicated service area to work on just J4 guns while running the store. So Big David or Lil’ David can tech guns while handing off kit at the store. In addition we are leasing property for new employees for full time J4 work that is minutes from the store and David’s residence. That location he will be looking at tomorrow, and if we like it we will be updating it right after the Store move. Running to look at that and setup takes time also, but will allow us to far better handle our time and your guns. The store will have a dedicated tech shop for repairs, and J4 is setting up a new shop (with A/C) for production.
But it is hard to take care of emails, and we have lost some in the mix. I haven’t had answers to the question of whether your marker is shipped out or not, or tracking. David hasn’t had the manpower to answer emails either. It might not look like it, but we are as busy as we can be on this, while not pissing off our spouses. Well, okay, we have pissed them off to no end already, but we continue to do so at the pace we think we can justify.
We are still here though. We have stayed ‘open’ and are working on resolving all of the issues as they come up. David and I would love to be able to spend 40 hours a week, or far more, on just J4. As it is at the moment, we cannot do that with the current infrastructure. We can’t even communicate all of what we are doing, nor keep up with emails at the pace we feel is responsible. That IS changing though.
We will have the larger store opening in a week or two. We could have property leased for the Shop within 2-3 days. And we have employees now that relieved David enough that he can expand the store and find a Shop, and he will be able to put far more time into J4. I have more time available and some PTO so I might start making time.
We should be able to get back to emails and such this week. We will access everything again here again soon. Gun count, last problems, and anything else when we have this done.
