Ok so here is the long overdue how to on how to install the Magna Clutch Kit.
First remove the screws on the shell.
Then remove the 2 screws on the upper raceway half
Then remove the anti-jam kit.
Then remove the drive cone, spring and spring cup.
Then remove the E-clip at the bottom of the raceway.
-Optional- If you do not have a rip drive right now do the fallowing.
Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the raceway to expose the gears
Remove the belt and gear closest to the motor.
Remove the large gear.
Remove the E-clip from the short drive shaft
Remove the large gear from that drive shaft
Install the large gear on the new long rip drive shaft
Install the E-clip on the new drive shaft
Install the drive shaft back in to the raceway
Install the smaller gear and belt
Put the 3 screws back in to the gear box
Do not over tighten the screws
Install the magnets in the magnet holder how you wanted, I did the “brittle paint” set up.
(make sure your magnet holder is the other way I installed it wrong the 1st time but did not get a 2ed photo of it, sorry)
(easiest way to pull the magnets off.)
Install the magnet holder in the bottom of the raceway with the shim side down.
Install the clutch plate of your choice. I used the “N” style plate at the end but the photo has a triangle
Install the spring cup that has he star on the bottom of it.
Install the spring that you want there is the hard and soft spring I chose the hard spring.
While holding the lower drive cone install the drive cone cap so you don’t lose your prewinde.
Install the anti-jam kit
Install the upper raceway
Install the eyes if you have them, tape everything back in to place.
For Putting your raceway from a halo/Reloader B in to Magna Shells that you bought.
I am not responsible for you breaking your Halo/Reloader b, doing the fallowing will void your warranty.
Remove everything from your halo so you just have the raceway now. Take
the inner 2 wires on the motor side and cut them (white and red) add about 1” of wire using solder and heat shrink.
On the eye side if you have them cut and lengthen all 4 wires and solder and heat shrink again.
Test to make sure it all is working again.
Take the leads that the eyes and motor/battery wires plug in to and bend them up.
Next cut out a pattern that looks like this I’ll try and get a .PDF so you can print it put and use mine.
Once you do that it will create the raceway that the Magna uses.
Once you do that just put it all back together.
that is how I had to put the eye wires in so they didn't get messed pinched.
NOTE: There is a ramp in the magnas that you buy, right now Kee is not selling them on their own. But that paper template is the shape/size of one out of the Magna. With the template made in to a ramp made out of plastic like used in egg speed feeds allows it to work right.
Unless you can buy a ramp from your local shop. Once it is in the right spot there will be no gaps showing in the loader.
